[Today you found a ticket to a theme park. It seems relatively normal, except that it reads: Lifetime Parkhopper Pass to Progress City. ”The Most Magical Pocket Dimension in the Multiverse!” This is not a theme park you have ever heard of, if you live in a world where theme parks are of the norm.

For some reason you’re drawn to the ticket. There’s something… magical in this piece of paper, and you can practically hear it calling out to you, and you feel compelled to pick it up. It’s strange, but it’s a piece of paper, what’s the worst that could happen?

However, the moment you pick it up, you feel yourself being pulled. There is nothing pulling you but there is an overwhelming sensation that something is pulling you by the chest into the ground. You don’t have time to process what’s going on before you suddenly fall over, the strange feeling going away the moment you hit the ground.

It takes a few moments for you to regain your bearings, but as you look up you are suddenly hit with the fact that, wherever you were before, you certainly aren’t there anymore. It appears to be a transport station of some sort, and a very sleek and new one at that. Monorails pass by the station every couple of minutes, with small, slower moving vehicles consistently move in and out of the center.

The innermost wall, right behind where you stand, is lined with portals. It appears that you came in through this portal, but if you try to go back the way you came in, you’ll find that you are unable to enter it, no matter how hard you try.

While the realization that you are now trapped in this strange place, you will soon find that you also have a strange band strapped to your dominant wrist. No matter how hard you try to take it off, it seems like it’s stuck on there.

At least you’re not alone, along with a bunch of other people who arrived around the same time you did, there are humanoid people who seemed to be intrigued by your arrival. They’re all generally nice, but get confused if you ask them why you’re here and why you can’t leave. They will, however, happily tell you the name of the place you’re in if you ask:

Progress City.]

[HRK. oh god. she's gotten better at all the touchy feely stuff in the past few weeks, but this is like expert level while she's still fumbling around at intermediate.]

Air is a thing people need, Evie. [but she's. happy to see her. for all she's worried about what this means.]

[Belle blinks a few times, and takes a step or two back from the girl.]

How...how did you know my name?

[Frightened, and just a little bit defensive.]

[nods solemnly] A bunch of evil robots abducted me and my friends and forced us to kill each other. We defeated them, though!

[ ...Hm.

Basil might've provided some advice when the pocket dimension was being reconstructed, but uh. it very much wasn't reconstructed last he saw the place, let alone sleek and bright and where the hell is he.

Also there's a thing on his tiny wrist. That won't come off.

He genuinely isn't sure how he wants to react to this. ]

[laughs. somewhat nervously.]

What, did you hit your head coming out of that portal? Of course I know your name.

Oh! Uhh, that's... [yeah even Della thinks that sounds fake] ...well, I'm glad you defeated them? But hopefully this isn't like that.

I know, I know, I'm sorry — ( evie exhales in one breath, begrudgingly letting her arms drop to her sides and taking a small step back.

there's a sheepish smile on her face that doesn't quite reach her eyes, but that's mostly because her eyes betray a little more fear and apprehension than she'd care to admit. this sudden arrival of theirs could mean any number of things, and almost none of them are good, especially with the thought of she and her friends' parents keen on revenge for their alignment with the auradonians in mind.

evie's keeping it together as best as she can. ) Where are we? ( as though freddie could possibly know. )

[It takes a few moments for Beaker to collect himself again. He lets out a sigh, then starts to speak a little more slowly.]

Meep...meep meemii meep meemoo. Meep, meemiimeep meep, meep meemii...Meemiimeep?

[He...came from that portal. Well, before that, he was in an interdimensional city called...Nautilus? He doesn't think that she's heard of it before, what it being a city inhabited by the subconscious or whatever.]

Meep! Mii Beaker. [He points to himself, then gestures towards Evie.] Meep moo meep? [What's your name?]

If it's at all similar to mine, that's not going to work. These bracelets don't respond to rodent teeth--and I do believe yours may be a bit duller.

[ Sup. Mouse-dad's still at the bemused stage, clearly not as put out about their unexpected arrival as he ought to be. ]

[Bagheera has seen better days.

He didn't think much of the ticket at the time- just some little trinket of man's invention, probably dropped by accident during a trek through the jungle. He'd picked it up carefully in his mouth, intending to bring it to Mowgli- the boy adored manmade objects, collected them like a little bird- and then-

And then-

No matter how dignified and intelligent they are, if you abruptly shove a wild leopard with a healthy distrust of humans into a crowd of them, with no explanation or even a moment to breathe, the reaction is going to be bad.

Bagheera has enough self control to not hurt anyone [unless you give him a reason to], but he's a snarling mass of fury in the middle of the street, his fangs bared and ears back, his fur bristling with panic. He's fully convinced that this is some sort of new man trap and that he's about to be slaughtered, and hasn't even noticed the band on his paw.

Good luck dealing with that.]

[Once that situation's dealt with, and Bagheera's had time to think, calm down, and apologize, he begins exploring the general area in earnest. At the moment, he seems fascinated by the technology on display.]

Excuse me? Would you happen to know what this thing does?

[It's... a street lamp. And if you decide to answer him, you get the feeling he has a lot more questions of a similar vein to ask.]

I'm... kinda thinking it might not be? The last ones were all in little houses. This place is pretty... [waves her hands expansively] I mean, where do those weird trains go? You can't keep track of people in a place so big it needs trains.

Hmm. You're right, that doesn't seem at all effective for mass-murder.

[she kind of wants to take all the trains though just to map out this place but there's probably a better time for that.]

Then you'd at least think they'd tell us why we're here! I don't see the point in dragging a bunch of people into a theme park for no reason. ...Unless it's a vacation, in which case they really should've let us pack first. [she misses all her shit she's so unprepared for whatever this is]

[Belle has to blink for a second down at the...duck girl...she's speaking to, and while it's not the strangest sight Belle has seen, it still takes a moment's getting used to, so she ends up missing...most of the first part of what Della is saying.

She presses her lips together, shaking her head, and then lets out a skeptical laugh.]

It's just....I've never seen anything like this, and people just keep saying this is Progress City, but I've never heard of that in my entire life!

[Bends down to take a closer look at this mouse.]

Just the cutest! Wearing clothes and all!

...No, sorry, I'm. Not sure what you mean.

I've been kidnapped before, but never like this...and really that was my own choice. I wasn't...I wasn't spirited away like this.

[It's a good thing Della loves answering questions, then! Also, admittedly, she's interested in the whole talking cat thing (he's not standing on two legs or wearing clothes, okay, it's weird).]

Uh... you mean the street lamps? It's just a light! You know, to make the streets easier to see at night.

[She pats at her head, feeling for tender spots, but...nothing.]

[Sorry for getting up in your personal space and all, but Ariel is scooping up Basil in her hands when she sees him. She gives him a (very careful) hug in relief.]

There's, uh... A couple theories I'm working with, right now. [she notes the look in her eyes, and while of course she doesn't directly offer comfort...] Most of them don't involve all of us getting murdered.

Well, you can't know every city in the world, right? [She'd be more surprised if someone had heard of this place before, because Della sure hasn't and she's a big fan of studying maps.] But... well, I'm sure one of the trains leads out of here!

[She doesn't actually believe that because the portals have got to be there for a reason, but. No reason to start delving into theories about why they're seemingly trapped here. She at least vaguely knows that'd probably be upsetting.]

As if this whole thing weren't frightening enough, that's...that's a panther. Belle's read about them in books, of course, but seeing one up-close, and angry, is a whole other thing. She gasps, holding one hand up to her mouth, and then approaches...still keeping her distance, of course, but she crouches down a little, holds out both hands.]

Hey....hey. It's okay, it's...nobody's going to hurt you, I don't think.

Interesting... and certainly helpful for those who can't see in the dark like myself. But how is it that the red flower stays trapped upon this stick? How does it not die out or spread?

Basil gives the strange human a look of truly incredible disdain, taking a few steps back. ]
