Rod hecked up a little
Who: Rod and you
What: Well... you might be here awhile...
Where: At the transport center
When: Tuesday Morning
Warnings: None atm!
[On Tuesday morning, everyone will receive a letter when they wake up, no matter where they're staying for the night. It's neatly typed and just states:
Please meet me at the Transport Center at 10 AM. I have something important to discuss with everyone.
When they arrive at the center, they will find Rod already there, with a box of envelopes. When he speaks, he looks a little sheepish.]
Good morning everyone, I am deeply sorry to say that whatever is wrong with the portals, it's tricky enough that you might be here for awhile. And after an enlightening conversation with Red, we've decided that we should at least make accommodation's for everyone.
As it is providing a lot of stress on Red to provide free food and board daily, we decided that, for the time being, everyone will live in Vista Way for free. It's a nice apartment complex, but if you are unsatisfied with the housing you may move out once you've accumulated enough money.
On that note, that's what this box is for. While you'll be staying here, we thought it would be best to give everyone a job so they would have something to do. We won't be forcing everyone to have a job, and if you're dissatisfied with the job you were given, we can consider giving you a more appropriate job, but having a wage and something to do while we fix the problem might be nice.
I should add that you're starting pay will be around 15 "Disney dollars" an hour, but if that's an unreasonable minimum wage I am willing to increase the wage to something more livable.
Finally, in each envelope with your assigned job, there's also a couple of Magic Cards in here as an apology for the inconvenience. I ask you not to abuse their power, but you can test them as much as you want while you're here using your Magicband.
If you have any questions regarding the situation, I will be happy to answer them.
[He sets the box down, and true to his word, there are envelopes with each guest's name on it, and inside it is your assigned job, starting date, and two different Magic Cards.]

And...okay. A book store?
That, she can do. She actually smiles, a tiny bit.]
I don't know what I'm to do with these cards, but...I thank you for giving us options, at the very least.
This...this book store. Do they carry the works of Shakespeare?
no subject
Why would a book store sell shakes.
no subject
[She furrows her brow.]
William Shakespeare. The great playwright? Surely you've heard of him.

I'm afraid I haven't. What sort of plays does Monsieur Funcoot write?
no subject
no subject
I don't find that incredibly relatable.

Are you someone who wants others to be in awe of them?

I'm afraid we don't at that particular bookstore. Not a lot of interest in buying Shakespeare while inside a theme park, I'm afraid.
However, we have an expansive library in the Orange District that certainly has his entire collection.
no subject
[what the fuck is the POINT rod
She purses her lips, but her disappointed expression does clear a little upon learning that there's both a bookstore and a library.]
Truly? And the owner of the library will allow me to peruse it...?
[what's a public library]
no subject
Of course. The library is free for everyone, visitors and citizens. I'll admit I don't visit it as often as I like with my work, but I like to think that it's a fantastic library.
no subject
That's remarkable, I...I need to go there right away! I have so much reading to catch up on.
[Like. A couple centuries' worth.]

[There's a long pause, during which Belle combs her memory for any such a word. Nothing.]
Please explain.
no subject
For lack of a better way of describing it, it's the process of capturing movement in ways to tell stories or spread information in the comfort of your own home.
no subject
[this is a lot right now]
no subject
If we're done here, I'd like to be excused then.

[ Basil hasn't quite settled on an opinion regarding their being trapped here yet, so he's still observation mode... but mention of a bookstore? That gets his attention, if only because there's probably more than the one. Best to double-check.
So here's a mouse at Belle's feet, holding up the paper with his own assignment - "Bookseller: My Heritage Books (location Epcot)" - for her to inspect. ]
We could well be coworkers--same place?
no subject
Yes! That's the exact one. [She holds out an open palm.]
If we're coworkers, we may as well introduce ourselves. My name is Belle.
no subject
And I'm Basil Facilier. It's good to meet you, Miss Belle. [ Slight bow!
...She seems vaguely familiar. Probably involved in one of the other rounds of that murder game? Buuuut he doesn't recall speaking with her before, so introductions are still clearly in order. ]

[She'd intended to offer him a hand for a handshake, but when he hops into her hand, she lets out a startled huff of laughter, and then brings up her other thumb and forefinger for that purpose instead.]
—nice to meet you. I hope we'll be good friends.
no subject
...Figuring out handshake mechanics on this degree of scale difference is complicated for everyone, it's fine. He refuses to be embarrassed, it's fine. He'll just shake her fingers on the second attempt, everything's fine. There's worse problems to have.
Like. Not actually having worked a normal job before,,, ] Aheh. I, ah, hope to be a decent enough coworker, at any rate? I'm afraid I... haven't had coworkers bef--er well, not frequently.
no subject
That's alright. I've only ever worked around my father's little farm, so this will be a new experience for the both of us. Do...do you enjoy reading, Monsieur Facilier?
no subject
Mm, dependent on subject matter? Can't say it's my first choice of pastime, but it's certainly been a great help more than once.
And yourself? Favored hobby or a means to an end?
