[Today, if you decide to pay a visit to the Tower of Tower, for once you'll actually see Joshua here, doing his job?? WHAT??

... Granted, he's not the chipper ride attendant that Rod would probably want right now, though. If anything he seems to be really bored, even reading some ridiculous magazines while in the elevator with the guests and simply flipping a page when the drop hits. Once the elevator comes to a stop--]

Something something Twilight Zone, you heard the video enough times to guess what I'm going to say, go on and get out of the elevator already unless you want to ride again.

[So that's how Josh's work day is going, apparently.]

[Sometime later, Josh leaves work and finds an empty open space to do something that he hasn't done in a very, very long time: practicing with his powers that the cards have given him here. Namely, the random-acting Genie Lamp card. Normally, his magnificent omniscience would be able to predict what effect the card is going to have when he chooses to use it, but... that is not the case here in this place.

As such, anyone who comes across him today will find him attempting to use the card and use it in a manner that benefits him somehow, but so far, he seems to be slowly becoming frustrated, before he finally uses it to accidentally set fire to a tree nearby. Whoops...]

[Late tonight, you may be able to spot Joshua... sitting on the top of the roof where he and Tadashi live. How did he get up there without the use of his wings like he would have before? Who knows. Regardless, he's here, looking at the night sky and occasionally looking down at anyone if they happen to actually be passing by at this late hour. Say hello?]

[At that, Joshua nods before tossing something down to Tadashi for him to catch--sure enough, it's the Flight card. It appears your suspicion of him having borrowed it to get up here was correct.]

[tadaishi]

[Guess that teaches him not to leave it lying around too often.]

Huh.

[He's had a little more practice with the card since he got it, so at least he doesn't embarrass himself by flailing his way up to Joshua, but he does have to use the building a little to keep from floating the wrong direction.]

Well, that answers the first question I had.

[Joshua watches with some small amount of amusement, putting his chin in his hands here.]

Oh? What was your second question, then?

It was going to be 'what brings you out here', but now it might be 'why are you stealing my stuff?'

...Just kidding, t's the first one. I hardly ever use that card, so it's good that someone is.

Well dear, what brought me out here on to the roof was this card I stole while you weren't looking, obviously.

[... Of course he took your question literally, why wouldn't he.]

[Why are you like this?]

I walked into that one. Why are you out here, then? General sleeplessness or are you worried about something...?

[Besides his friends or what's happening back home. That's probably a given.]

Hmm... a little of column A, a little of column B?

[That is the opposite of helpful.]

Hmm. Wanna talk about it? Orr anything really?

[Or would you prefer to push him off the roof for being obnoxious?]

[There's a long enough pause that you might think the answer is no, before Joshua suddenly speaks.]

Back in San Fransokyo... how do you think Hiro is faring right now without you being there?

[He was starting to think that, and is thus surprised when Joshua does say something.]

That's...Hiro? Well, uh...he didn't take my disappearance very well last time, so...pretty terribly, I imagine.

[And that was before the murder games. Last time Tadashi disappeared, he was presumed dead. This time...he's wondering if that would happen again, or if time has even passed back home. They're in a pocket dimension, so it's entirely possible it hasn't.]

I hope I'm wrong about that, though.

[Joshua nods in agreement to that, looking up at the night sky.]

Normally, I would say the same, but now... I'm not sure. My powers, and Rhyme's dreams, were what was holding the fragments of Shibuya's remaining people together, so without my being there... it's entirely possible that if time is still passing, then my friends will have vanished into thin air while I'm not present.

... Either that, or perhaps they're continuing on somewhere outside of this long dream that I've yet to consider.

[tadaishi]

Hmm.

[He can't pretend he knows exactly how that works, the people being held together with dreams. Joshua being the one to hold them together does make sense, though.]

I think they'll be okay, for a while at least. They seemed to hold themselves together [no pun intended] while you were gone before--in the hotel and the mansion. I can't say I understand how your method of...existence works, but I feel like they'll still be there whenever you get back.

[When they get back. He'll have words with Rod if he ends up returning to San Fran without Joshua. Somehow.]

[About how they seemed to still exist while Josh had been away at the hotel and mansion, he means.]

[He doesn't know it's the first part, and is hoping Joshua agrees with his assessment of 'they'll be there when you get back'.]
