EVENT END: The New Mayor

Who: Everyone!
What: The end of the election event
Where: Park in Aqua District
When: 5/6.
Warnings: The new mayor, for one thing.

[On Sunday morning, everyone will wake up to a new card of their choice, along with a note asking everyone to meet in the park at noon for the announcement of the new mayor.

At noon, Rod shows up on the stage, looking somehow more exhausted than the day he broke down.]

Before we announce the new mayor, I want to make a few announcements.

First of all, Red and I have decided to start a city council, and we’ll be able to accept or reject law according to the suitability and reasonability of them. This applies to me as well.

Second of all, in the event that any mayor who isn’t a native manages to leave the city, I will become the temporary mayor again and, in the event that we have time, hold another debate and election as soon as possible.

Lastly, no matter who is elected mayor, they will not obtain the means to alter or control this pocket dimension, so I am still technically the owner of it. This is because both objects are insanely powerful, and we need something more than a mere vote to decide on who gets them. You may think it’s unfair, but I know first hand that its magic is horrifying in the wrong hands.

[He sighs, before he continues.]

Due to the nature of my announcements, you have probably already guessed that I am not the mayor anymore. I cannot say that I personally agree with who you voted for, but I promised myself I wouldn’t be a dictator, and I certainly hope the new mayor will honor it and try to uphold our moral code.

And so… I would like to welcome our new Mayor…. [he weakly gestures.] Sheldon J. Plankton.

(ooc: new card assignments for voters and ooc vote numbers can be found here!)

It really doesn't matter, 'cause you voted for Evie.

Does this mean we get to execute the old mayor now?

Are you willing to say that on tape? That you're a loser?

Why not? It's a far better fate than execution.

Disneytown or notttttt, this isn’t the last of Jerry Mander!

I may be old-fashioned, but Plankton has proven that the average voter is as drunk and stupid as ever. The only one who's changed is me. I've become more bitter and, let's face it, craaaaaaazy over the years. And when I'm finally ssssswept into office, I'll sell our children's organs to zoos for meat, and I'll go into people's houses at night and wreck up the place!

Absolutely.

[She doesn't hesitate. In her mind, it's only the right thing to do. She's failed the city as a mayoral candidate, but she can still help.]

Thank you, Monsieur Rod, that's a very kind offer. I'll gladly help.
hallotween: (and it was strong)

Yeah, yeah. We still get to execute him when he does the first one, right?

I don't think it would be much improved by better timing.

Like one vote ever made a difference. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to inch myself over to city hall and vandalize it.

[Belle's mouth presses into a thin line, and she steels herself as she turns to face Daria.]

I'm sorry, Daria, I...I ought to have tried harder. Done more to succeed.

[She folds her hands in front of her, earnestly.]

It's not much, but I am going to join the City Council. If we have to be governed by this...Sheldon person, I can at least try to make positive change from beneath him.
