A New Face
Who: Saber & you!
What: Settling in here at Progress City
Where: Magic Kingdom
When: April 18-19
Warnings: None
A
[After arriving, Saber quickly takes to her job as ride operator for the King Arthur Carousel. The name is a little...on the nose, and the sword in the stone across the way vexes her, though she tries to avoid paying it much attention.
Though she's still adjusting to the job, she stands attentively by the controls to let people on, and begin the ride when ready, wearing a name tag that has "Saber" scribbled over whatever originally lay underneath.]
B
[In her downtime, Saber has taken to exploring around the park, getting a feel for the area. This has also led to her passing by numerous food stalls offering up things she had never even seen before.
As a result, she can be found wandering the Magic Kingdom with arms full of a variety of treats (including multiple Dole Whips), looking rather small in contrast to the burden she's carrying.]

I'm fine.
no subject
You sure? 'Cause it looks to me like you're about to drop everything.
no subject
Perhaps...some help would be appreciated.
A
HNNNNNNNGGGGGHHHHH!
no subject
It only comes out at certain times.
no subject
When's the next time?
no subject
I'm...not sure. I haven't memorized the schedule yet.

Pulling Excalibur grants one rule over the Kingdom of Britain. It's not something that can, or should, be taken lightly. Perhaps you should use this time to reflect on whether the weight of kingship is one you can carry.

[She looks a little embarrassed.]
This one is. It's not the real sword of selection, of course.

no subject
Excuse me?
[You what?]
no subject
...If I ever get to stay home longer than two weeks, that is.
[SUR...PRISE?]
no subject
[Bearing the burden of the throne as a child is not a fun idea.]
B
Need any help carrying all that?
no subject
[She protests, but her grip is slipping...]
no subject
How's that?
no subject
[The magic takes her by surprise until she remembers that...that's something commonplace here. She's still adjusting to it.]
That is quite helpful, thank you.
[Her pride is just slightly sore, though.]
no subject
[If Joshua notices, he doesn't show it.]
So you're one of the new folks here, right?
no subject
[She's rather reluctant to admit the fact. She's still not entirely sure what to make of it.]
I take it you've been here a while?
no subject
[Keeping track of such things hasn't been his main priority.]
no subject
[She was hoping he might've been there longer. A long-term resident might be able to shed more insight on the place.]
What do you make of this place?
no subject

no subject
[She doesn't...have words for that.]

[...]
Did they promise you anything for winning?
no subject
no subject
[Her face falls ever so slightly with those words.]
No one should be forced into that situation.
no subject
no subject
[The situation beared some resemblance to the Holy Grail Wars, but, at least to some degree there were no unwilling participants, despite how twisted it ended up becoming.]
How did it end?
no subject
[... Because that sure escalated quickly.]
no subject
So everyone was saved?
no subject
Everyone that could be saved, yes.
A
so here's a kid in oversized robes and a long white beard the size of herself just sorta walking on over because she's bored and wants to inflict it on those around her.]
Have you ever actually been on a merry-go-round before? [because half of you guys are from depressing worlds where electricity is the new hotness.]
no subject
No, I haven't.
[The child is dressed strangely enough to distract her, so she can't help but ask:]
Why are you wearing that?
no subject
[sorta like leaning on the controls box]
You should give it a try! I'll take over for you. [look at her long majestic beard she's clearly wise and trustworthy]
no subject
...and then, she begins to laugh. A real, honest to goodness laugh.]
You're doing a very good job. [Wipes a tear.] I could hardly pull it off so well.
no subject
[like pushing herself onto the controls box by her elbows]
no subject
[Giving it some thought- it shouldn't be all that surprising. He was half-incubus, and certainly acted like it. She's more taken aback by the fact the child actually knows of her heritage.
She lightly nudges Marnie away from the controls box.]
Please don't touch that.
no subject
[huffs] C'mooooon, let me have a turn! I won't break it or anything!
no subject
[She's at least glad to know he's not holed up in Avalon for all eternity.]
It's my duty to watch over this ride. I cannot be seen to falter, neglect my responsibility, or let it fall into the hands of others. [So, you'll have to do better than that.]
