Meep meemiimeep!
Who: Beaker and you!
What: Beaker at work, exploring, suffering
Where: Bill's Lab, Animal Kingdom, Wherever
When: 4/16 - 4/18
Warnings: none right now!
A - Bill's Lab
[What's that sound? It resembles a very prolonged, loud "MEEEEEEEP"--specifically, Beaker screaming. If one bothers to stick around, they'll see a flaming orange streak--literally, flaming--speed past them straight to the sink. Beaker promptly sticks his head under the faucet, trying to extinguish his hair which is currently on fire. Soaked and stuttering, he collapses onto the ground, utterly exhausted. Working at Muppet Labs was bad, but this? This is a whole new level of hell. Not only is Bill a terrible boss, Beaker has probably been subjected to abuse that shaved a whole twenty years off of his eternal Muppet lifetime.
He just really wants to take his five-minute lunch break right now. Some lunch would be nice, but food isn't allowed in the laboratory.]
B - Wandering the Animal Kingdom
[Sometime when he's not suffering at Bill's hands, Beaker is out exploring the Animal Kingdom part of the park. When he and the rest of the Muppets visited--well, invaded--Disney World, they didn't get to explore this part of the park. He spends a good portion of the time wandering around and carefully observing the animals walking about, scribbling some notes down in a small notepad. Occasionally, he'll mutter to himself, then cross something out and move on. If someone passes by, he'll timidly approach them and point to an animal in the vicinity.]
Meemii--meep meemiimeep meemoo meep meemii?
[Excuse me--do you know if the animals here are prone to escape?]
C - Wandering / Wildcard
[Want to run into Beaker #2 anywhere in the park? Just post a comment with the date, location, and prompt!]

B
It is in one of these moments that Beaker turns to approach him.]
Uhh...
[In the time that it takes him to process the meeps, he notices that, though suspicious, this scientist is probably not much of a threat at all.]
Not on my watch.

Ah, meep miimeep moo? Meemiimeep meemoo meep meemii?
[Ah, so he works here? Beaker doesn't recognize his face--is he new in Progress City?]
no subject
The fellow didn't quite seem like the type, and was also made of foam, but you can never be too sure.]
Yeah. Security. Just started.
[He responds with the blunt gruffness he gives to most other people.]
You've been here longer. [Not so much a question, as an observation.]
no subject
[He nods, which is really just...bobbing his head up and down. A bit unsettling if you're not used to Muppet anatomy.]
Meemiimeep meemoo meep! Meep meemiimeep meep, meep meemiimeep.
[He gestures vaguely with his hands as he talks. Apparently, he was pulled from one interdimensional city to another interdimensional city through a portal...which was somehow attached to a ticket. It's been a long and confusing few months for him, but he's getting by.]
Meemiimeep meemoo, meep meep! Meemiimeep.
[He's a scientist! He works at Bill's Lab, but previously, he worked at Muppet Labs. He fishes his extremely worn and singed ID card out of his coat pocket and shows it to the stranger. Normally, he'd get a new one from Bunsen every few months, but since he hasn't exactly had time to go home....]
no subject
A scientist, huh. And this isn't your first rodeo...
[He gives the ID card a look over.]
You must be highly sought after. What work are you doing?
no subject
Meep, meemiimeep meemoo meep meemiimeep! Meep...meemiimeep meep meemoo meep....
[Well, previously, he worked on inventions for daily use and convenience, like the pet converter! But...recently, as he's been working for Bill, he hasn't exactly had the time to do any of that....
His expression looks vaguely distraught--at least, more distraught than usual.]
Meep? Meemiimeep meemoo meep?
[What about him? How's security work been treating him?]
no subject
What is it that this 'Bill' has you working on?
[It better not be a Metal Gear.]
Security's similar enough to my old job for me to be good at it. [He itches for a cigarette, before realizing he's not allowed to smoke here. He grunts.] Different enough for a change of pace.

[Well...all kinds of stuff. Usually, it's just maintenance on the stuff that already exists, like the robots and stuff, since Bill does most of the making around here. He wishes he could do more, but...well.
He doesn't explain further, but instead directs his attention back to Snake.]
Meep? Meemiimeep meemoo meep meep?
[Really? And what was his old job?]
no subject
When Beaker asks him about his line of work, he shows no visual discomfort, but there's a reluctance in his voice.]
It's...classified.
a
But he holds out a hand anyway.]
Are you okay? He's not - was that supposed to happen?
no subject
[No. But, believe him, he's used to it.
Beaker lets out a sigh, taking Ryan's hand to help himself up. He takes a moment to fluff up his hair again before speaking again.]
Meemii meep meemiimeep meemoomeep. Memiimeep moo, meep memiimeep moo miimeep meep meemoo meeiimeep.
[This is worse than his job at Muppet Labs, he laments. At least back at home, he actually worked with people he enjoyed being around.]

[The words are carefully said, because Ryan is not 100% on what Beaker's saying. It's weird, not being able to consult the Script for guidance on what to say and do - improv was never his strong suit but here he is. He's pretty sure he gets the gist of what's being said anyway.]
There's a form for it, I think - it's one of the things I handle for the Mayor sometimes.
no subject
[Beaker shakes his head--don't get him wrong, he likes science--he can probably just deal with whatever Bill throws at him in time.]
Meep, meemii, meep meemii meep meemoo, meep meemiimeep meemoo meep meemii? Meep meemoomeep meep meemii meep meep, meep meep? Meep meemiimeep meemoo--
[And, besides, if he was to change over to Ellen's Lab, who knew what kind of boss she would be like? What if she was just like Bill, but worse? And what about the bosses in the other jobs? As he talks, his meeping just keeps getting faster and more panicked. He's not exactly having a good time.]

[...Thank you. He appreciates it.
He sighs, taking a minute to calm down and collect himself.]
Meemiimeep, mii meemoo meemoo meep, meemiimeep.
[Honestly, if he could just see a friend from home, that'd be great. He's been away for a long time.]
no subject
[As you know, Bill.]
