[The Fourth of July masquerade was... special! It's an event Wendy will hold in her heart, as well as the depths of her memories that she doesn't really enjoy thinking about. But it's all in the past now, and the Blot wasn't showing his dumb face. Life can continue.

And pizza, like life, is fleeting.

In an effort to put the thoughts of a failed murdergame behind her, Wendy took up more work, which just so happened to include a delivery girl position for Pizza Planet. The position worked best for her, due to a large use of her Wild Ride card. An awesome-looking gold cart careening through the streets and roads of the city would always be an attention grabber. Maybe you're the person that ordered in, maybe you're just nearby when the cart pulls up to the curb. Either way, she's here, never any worse for wear despite her driving habits.]

Hey! Got an order to delivery!

B: this one's on the house
[Other times, mostly around lunchtime, you may catch Wendy sitting on a park bench, or a fountain's edge, or just the ground, surrounded by a few boxes of pizza. One box is open in her hands, and she's lazily munching away at the contents.

Obviously she wouldn't do this if it was against the rules. Right? She'll even wave you over, once she spots you.]

Probably for the best. Three hundred plus years of the Eclipsicle treatment doesn't come highly recommended. Pizza delivery and cruise driving and... whatever Star does seem very preferable.

[To be honest, Beaker doesn't even remember ordering a pizza. But he's been pretty distracted lately. He hasn't left Ellen's lab in days, too busy perfecting his communication devices, and he probably hasn't eaten anything in most of that time. At least there's a water fountain right outside the door, so he hasn't keeled over from dehydration just yet.

Eventually, Beaker stumbles to the front door, and to put it simply, he looks like shit. His hair is even more of a mess than usual, he's got bags under his eyes that kind of look like half-circles of gray felt hastily glued on, and he's definitely been wearing these clothes for a few days straight.]

Mi-muh meep mi mi, minimuh-meep mi muh mi-meep-mee?

[He doesn't think he ordered anything, are you sure you're at the right house?]

Oh yes, it was quite impressive! She seemed to be enjoying a real pirate-y adventure.

Oooh, now there's a jungle cruise theme.

[It was an odd suggestion from her, she knew that. But after everything that happened and how Wendy stuck out for her a number of times, it just felt right to come along and offer to hang.

Getting stuff to munch on sounds good, damn pizza job and all.

[She could question it, or she could go right along with Daria wishing to spend more time with her. It felt nice, seeing her being a bit more outspoken.

Reminded her of her old friends. Basically second nature.

She opens the door, gesturing for Daria to follow.]

Hey, gotta have something besides pizza every once in a while. Can only play with the teen stereotype for so long before you want like, a turkey leg or something.

A club? Two terrible people, you say?

[hmmmm. the gears in his head seem to be turning right now. pizza seems to be a secondary concern for now.]

I'll want the pizza as soon as possible, but...who exactly is in charge right now? I thought that Serling guy was rulin' this city with an iron fist.

And you know those turkey legs, they make for good weapons in a crisis.

[She locked the door behind her.]

Yeah, there's kind of a group of them here, last time I checked.

[All nonchalant-like. She'd fought her share of villains in her time.]

In charge of the pizza, or the city? Cuz I think Rod could be in charge of both or neither.

The city, of course. I could hardly care about who runs th' pizza gig as long as I get my pizzas hot and on time.

[He frowns. Then, after a moment of thought, he jabs a finger towards Wendy.]

You! You'll get me another two anchovy pizzas on the double, while I make a few calls. [Pause.] They still have payphones, right?

Hell yeah, they do. Did you see me swinging one back at that festival the Dreamfinder was running?

[She pulls out her Wild Ride card, once she's outside of course.]

Bam. Nailed a few of those gremlin things.

I dunno. Probably have to ask Rod, or have a look around or something. Or find a cellphone, maybe?

[She pulls out one of those magic cards and holds it to her wristband. In a flash, her cart is back , and she's jumping in.]

Anyway, on it, whatever your name is.

[She does a donut in her cart before speeding off down the road. Gone, at least, for the moment.]

Well, more general piracy, but a little construction... I'm sure a fort takeover is pretty doable.

[Pete grumbles under his breath--something about how nothing is like the "good ol' days".]

Th' name's Pete!

[He yells after Wendy, but she's already gone. He turns around and starts searching.

...Aha. Pete spots a conveniently placed phone booth a few feet away that reads "RESERVED FOR SUPERHEROES CHANGING. NOT A PHONE!"]

No sign stops Peg-Leg Pete!

[Pete shoves himself into the cramped quarters and glances at the coin slot, then at the phone. He picks up the phone and punches the coin slot so the booth practically crumples in half. Delicately, Pete puts in a few numbers and holds the phone up to his ear. Nothing but a dial tone. Pete scoffs.]

Figures that darned mayor can't keep anything running around here! [He tries to squeeze out of the phonebooth, but he can't budge.]

...Oh.

Now you make me wish I could've seen it, I was too busy these dumb cards.

[Looked at Wild Ride, back at Wendy.]

Dumb with a few exceptions, I've grown to like this crazy thing.

Sure is. Apparently Star just walked right in and claimed it. Now she's got real cannons and everything.

[She pats the side of her cart, silently hoping it doesn't explode like that one time Soos souped it up.]

Hey, not all the cards are dumb. I've gotten a lot of mileage outta this one.

[Climbs into the driver's seat, waits for Daria.]

[Honestly, it's been a long day, and she's been driving all over Progress City now, trying to get these pizzas to people who just don't like hanging out in easy to find places. It's been an adventure to be certain, but she was tired now. And even still, that didn't mean she looked as bad as Beaker, who earns a slight wince the first time she sees him.]

...Yeah, I got a large meat-lovers for uh... you, I guess. [This looks like the right place. It's a lab. Science. That sort of thing. She didn't bother to look too closely at the note she was given.

She'll just try and hand him the pizza.]

[Beaker eyes the pizza warily for a moment. He doesn't want to take a pizza that's not meant for him, but... he also wants to actually eat food. And for all he knows, maybe he did order it- maybe Jedidiah was right about the amnesia thing.]

[In all seriousness, she did like the thing. She calmly came and sat inside of it after all. It was pretty cool in a crazy way. Besides, now she had pleasant memories attached to it.]

I know we’re given them as a token for living here, but there’s a certain annoying novelty about it. Makes you feel like Pokémon cards have come back in style, except sometimes they do stuff. Like summon bees.
