Rod hecked up a little
Who: Rod and you
What: Well... you might be here awhile...
Where: At the transport center
When: Tuesday Morning
Warnings: None atm!
[On Tuesday morning, everyone will receive a letter when they wake up, no matter where they're staying for the night. It's neatly typed and just states:
Please meet me at the Transport Center at 10 AM. I have something important to discuss with everyone.
When they arrive at the center, they will find Rod already there, with a box of envelopes. When he speaks, he looks a little sheepish.]
Good morning everyone, I am deeply sorry to say that whatever is wrong with the portals, it's tricky enough that you might be here for awhile. And after an enlightening conversation with Red, we've decided that we should at least make accommodation's for everyone.
As it is providing a lot of stress on Red to provide free food and board daily, we decided that, for the time being, everyone will live in Vista Way for free. It's a nice apartment complex, but if you are unsatisfied with the housing you may move out once you've accumulated enough money.
On that note, that's what this box is for. While you'll be staying here, we thought it would be best to give everyone a job so they would have something to do. We won't be forcing everyone to have a job, and if you're dissatisfied with the job you were given, we can consider giving you a more appropriate job, but having a wage and something to do while we fix the problem might be nice.
I should add that you're starting pay will be around 15 "Disney dollars" an hour, but if that's an unreasonable minimum wage I am willing to increase the wage to something more livable.
Finally, in each envelope with your assigned job, there's also a couple of Magic Cards in here as an apology for the inconvenience. I ask you not to abuse their power, but you can test them as much as you want while you're here using your Magicband.
If you have any questions regarding the situation, I will be happy to answer them.
[He sets the box down, and true to his word, there are envelopes with each guest's name on it, and inside it is your assigned job, starting date, and two different Magic Cards.]

which is why evie takes it upon herself to start singing aloud, skirt twirling with her as she throws herself into performance for anyone who will listen, belting out: ) Oh, isn't this amazing? It's my favorite part because you'll seeeeee — Heeeeere's where she meets Prince Charming, but she won't discover that it's him till chapter threeee~
( later, after her performance, it's time to see what these silly little cards of hers do; perhaps you might stumble upon her as she touches her thunder card to her band and a jolt of electricity courses from her wrist — enough to make her gasp, enough to send a small static shock through anyone nearby — even if it's an accident. ) Oh! I'm so sorry!
( the second card evie tries gets a long, hard look before she even thinks about attempting it. happy haunting grounds? that sounds scary — maybe even scarier than her mom without her makeup. finally, though she exhales slowly, closes her eyes, and touches the card to her band. when she opens them, she looks around and sees nothing awry ... until she looks down at herself, however, realizes that she's fading away!
while she appears semi-transparent, she hurries over to the nearest person (creature, perhaps) and practically babbles, frantic, ) Hi — I need your help — I think I did something wrong — can you see me?
do muppets dream of electric meep
[It's not the first, second, or even 50th time Beaker's been electrocuted, but that doesn't make it any more fun. Beaker jumps back with a jolt- a literal one- and squeaks in pain. He's not really hurt- he's certainly taken worse shocks than that- but he wasn't expecting it.]
Mi-miii meep mi muh-mi...

or, at least, who she thinks is her small friend. cue the beaker confusion. )
Oh no — Beaker! Are you okay?
no subject
Beaker's not particularly used to people actually worrying about him openly when he gets injured, and the fact that this girl is a complete stranger to him only makes it more confusing. He tilts his head to the side, and while it is, of course, hard to figure out what he's saying, he's very clearly... confused.]
Mimimi? Meep-mi-muh meemimuh??
[How'd you know... his name...]
no subject
Remember? We met the day we arrived? I told you about Auradon and you told me about Muppet Labs.
( and also, no one knows how the hell evie can understand beaker — not even herself. perhaps it's a princess-ly quality; snow white can talk to birds, cinderella can talk to mice, and evie can talk to ... muppets. )
no subject
[Beaker's relieved that this girl appears to be able to understand his words fairly well, but... What? He doesn't remember that at all! And now she's upset...]
Me-mimeep mee-muh-mi mimiuhmee...
[He's so sorry, but he doesn't remember that at all. He'd ask if she's confusing him for someone else, but... whoever she met told her about Muppet Labs.]
Meemi mimuh mee-miimi.
[Maybe one of Bunsen's tests finally took their toll on him and took his memory in the process.]
no subject
( she's glad that she's still crouched down at beaker's level — you know, besides the puppeteering hands nobody needs to talk about — because it means she can look intently into his beautifully round eyes. ) I don't know how, Beaker, but we're going to get your memory back.
no subject
That was wonderful! It seems like they gave you the perfect job!
no subject
except, wait, she knows this face — only vaguely, though, from the storybooks full of fairytales she'd gathered from auradon's castoffs as a little girl. it's not the same, but it's the hair that makes her recognizable to the princess, at least a little bit. )
Are you — Ariel?
no subject
[She thinks for a moment.]
...Are you a friend of Freddie?
no subject
I mean, actually, yes! I'm friends with Freddie. Do you know her from —
( that place? with the bad stuff happening?
sorry, girl, she doesn't have the deets. )
no subject
Yes we did! It wasn't great but... I'm really happy I was able to meet her because of it.
[NEVERMIND THE WHOLE SHE GOT KILLED BY FREDDIE THING.]
no subject
I'm so glad, really. And — I know we don't know how we got here, but at least you're here together. And I'm here, so now I can start working on your wedding looks A-S-A-P.
( priorities. )
no subject
[Her smile brightens so much it could blind a man.]
You're going to help out! I'm so happy!
no subject
I mean — I'm not going to lie, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole — "you're young, you're my friend's aunt, blah blah blah" thing, but I'm so happy for you and Freddie. I think she could use a little sunshine and seawater in her life.
no subject
[Ariel is so happy right now! She takes Evie's hands into her own.]
I'll make Freddie happy. You'll see!

Don't you mean drivel?
( no, evie, don't enable him, don't do it, no, don't —
too late. )

( nooooo, sweet summer child. stop. stop while you're ahead. please.
anyways, she's totes not an orphan. maybe. she has her mom, even if she's ... her mom. )
no subject
Besides, the two concepts can coexist.

( wealthy? but evie cuts herself off, because her not-so-glamorous upbringing on the isle is kind of a soft spot. )
I wouldn't expect you to know anything about what makes that song so special.
