Rod hecked up a little
Who: Rod and you
What: Well... you might be here awhile...
Where: At the transport center
When: Tuesday Morning
Warnings: None atm!
[On Tuesday morning, everyone will receive a letter when they wake up, no matter where they're staying for the night. It's neatly typed and just states:
Please meet me at the Transport Center at 10 AM. I have something important to discuss with everyone.
When they arrive at the center, they will find Rod already there, with a box of envelopes. When he speaks, he looks a little sheepish.]
Good morning everyone, I am deeply sorry to say that whatever is wrong with the portals, it's tricky enough that you might be here for awhile. And after an enlightening conversation with Red, we've decided that we should at least make accommodation's for everyone.
As it is providing a lot of stress on Red to provide free food and board daily, we decided that, for the time being, everyone will live in Vista Way for free. It's a nice apartment complex, but if you are unsatisfied with the housing you may move out once you've accumulated enough money.
On that note, that's what this box is for. While you'll be staying here, we thought it would be best to give everyone a job so they would have something to do. We won't be forcing everyone to have a job, and if you're dissatisfied with the job you were given, we can consider giving you a more appropriate job, but having a wage and something to do while we fix the problem might be nice.
I should add that you're starting pay will be around 15 "Disney dollars" an hour, but if that's an unreasonable minimum wage I am willing to increase the wage to something more livable.
Finally, in each envelope with your assigned job, there's also a couple of Magic Cards in here as an apology for the inconvenience. I ask you not to abuse their power, but you can test them as much as you want while you're here using your Magicband.
If you have any questions regarding the situation, I will be happy to answer them.
[He sets the box down, and true to his word, there are envelopes with each guest's name on it, and inside it is your assigned job, starting date, and two different Magic Cards.]

[local big friendly goat here! He can sort of empathize with the communication barriers and some confusion.]
What's your name? I can look for yours if you want.
no subject
and would probably feed a lot of hungry animals]Ah, thank you. I'm sorry, a lot of the things around here are unfamiliar to me.
My name is Bagheera- yours?
no subject
I'm Lekmet! It's a pleasure to meet you. And don't worry about it, I've somewhat been in your position before and can help you out.
[Since the Mayor's got the reading part covered, maybe he could explain stuff with hunting metaphors?]
Which part are you most confused about?
no subject
Well... Everything, really. What are apartments? And Magic cards? Dollars?
no subject
Apartments are basically shelters, it's well protected from weather most of the time but somewhat an enclosed area. There- uh... there are a lot of doors, barriers, to go through, but I'm sure it'll be fine-!
Dollars are a kind of exchange system, you do something like hunt or guard and they'll reward you with it. It's an abstract kind of reward, but you could exchange it for fresh meat.
[He's going to pause right there for questions, because magic is a big can of worms and he sort of died using it]
no subject
[He's a little wary of what the apartments might be like, and he still hasn't entered a single human building, but if it's a shelter it can't be all bad, right? Still, he'll stay in the trees when he can.]

...I'm not exactly sure about these Magic Cards, though. We typically use spells- which card do you want to try out?
[He's also offering his own cards to test out if the panther's curious]
no subject
Let's see... Maybe the "Ice Blast" one, since it seems to be the milder of the two I received.
[And with that, Bagheera- with some difficulty- grabs the card with one paw, and maneuvers it towards the Magicband on his other forelimb.
Immediately, a swarm of ice and snow forms, and Bagheera jumps back, bristling. He wasn't really expecting much, let alone this.
The ice formation solidifies and shoots forward, slamming into a nearby trashcan and freezing it solid. Sorry everyone, the litterers win this time.]

I'd say that went pretty well! Ice magic's pretty neat, too.
[lekmet honey there is nothing neat about a frozen garbage can]
no subject
I- I suppose?
[Bagheera's pretty frazzled. And kind of scared that he could've been able to do something like that, without even entirely knowing WHAT he was doing...]
