tell him about Holmes-Lore
Who: Basil and whoever, perhaps you?
What: researching some fictional detective or other
Where: Progress City Library
When: throughout June
Warnings: n/a, will update if needed
[ Ever since Plankton got himself kicked out of office, Basil's been spending a lot of time at the city library. Basil seems to be doing research--in the fiction section of all things.
Sometimes he can be found reading through a human-sized book that's ended up on the floor somehow. He has to walk across the pages to read them fully, but he's fairly adept at turning them despite the scale issues. Other times he can be found climbing up and down the shelves, looking for a new one--if you're tall enough to reach the one he wants, he might ask for assistance getting it down. Or maybe you're really unlucky and he's decided to shove the thing off the shelf on his own--look out below!
Taking a closer look at any of his selected books might notice a theme.
...Yeah, they're all about Sherlock Holmes. ]

No, no, I don't hate you! It wasn't... It was never about anything like that. I love you. I never stopped. I'll probably never stop.
.. It's just, that's part of the reason we need to call this thing off. [VISIBLY BRACES FOR IMPACT]

[Ariel takes a deep breath, relaxing a little...even after what Freddie says. She reaches out to her and takes her hand gently.]
You mean our relationship? How come?

We both need... time. To heal. And grow. And maybe figure out how this whole "loving yourself" thing is supposed to work before you go on asking anybody else to do it. [okay that last one is probably just her--] This place... It's the closest thing to freedom we've had in a long while. I think we oughta take advantage of that.

[She hopes its okay but she does pull her into a hug.]
Y-You're right. I mean...it sucks but you are right. I honestly was just so scared you hated me. But to know you love me... that's enough. I can live with that.
[Ariel lets her go.]
It's more important to me that you're happy, Freddie. So if this is what you need, that's fine. I mean it.

[she lets out a breath she hadn't known she'd been holding. for weeks.]
... Thanks, Ariel. For being the one to actually convince me I ever could get better. It's meant a lot to me.
... Think we could kiss one last time? Just for the road?

We'll talk again when you're ready okay? Just...take of yourself until then okay?
[She gives her shoulder a light squeeze before stepping back.]
I love you Freddie. Take care.
[Ariel waves before leaving the store, still smiling even with tears running down her face.]
