Event log END: Plankton tried and failed

[It’s over. The Dreamfinder is saved. The Plankton Gremlins are gone, and everything is back to normal.

Well, mostly.

The very next morning, everyone who participated in the festival/saving the festival will once again wake up with a brand new card and an invitation for an emergency meeting.

Once again Rod is there, and once again he looks tired but he stands up straight once a crowd gathers.]

Good morning everyone, due to recent events Red and I had an emergency meeting on the state of affairs. I know this may be rash, and it might not be a popular opinion since he’s only been mayor for a month. However, between kidnapping someone that i consider a friend and important asset to the town and letting loose gremlins on Epcot, we have no choice but to impeach Plankton, effective immediately. I am aware that this is usually the kind of decision one needs to vote for, but after all Plankton’s done after a month, along as never attending a single actual meeting, as the creator of this realm I believe I am perfectly justified in my decision.

We plan on holding another election in the near future, as I don’t want to keep status quo just because of one bad mayor. However, for the time being I will resume the role as the mayor, and I will happily listen to any remarks or criticisms anyone has about this scenario or about how we should run this place.

[OOC: Event end! As mentioned we will intend on holding another election in the future, but it will be a smaller event than the first election and it probably won't be the only monthly event in that case. If we left you out of the list or if you got a double please let us know and we’ll fix it right away!]

[She couldn't believe this. After all that happened in this damn place already, she was standing here in complete and total AWE that there was such a thing as status quo.

Just kidding. If she learn anything from...anything ever in her life, things just kind of turn into a normal amount of crazy eventually. Then it's just surviving the normal nonsense. But over here, it was special nonsense. A certain brand that Koriko didn't have. All she could do was just sigh and look wearily in the crowd. She was tired, but probably relieved in her own way.]

I guess a major election after a span of a couple of weeks wasn't such a hot idea. Whodathunk.

Yes, and with an electing group of mostly-strangers who have barely had the chance to get acquainted? How on earth did that go poorly?

[A biiiiiig totally serious shrug.]

It went about as well as, say, allowing people with no political experience to just submit any fake name you want to have on a piece of paper and start running for office.

[Ahem.]

Or having no restrictions whatsoever for who may or may not run for election.

Wearing disguises. Threatening to ban food that went against the very nature of capitalism. Kidnapping.

You know, functional democracy.

To be fair, I've never seen actual, proper "democracy" in action, so as far as I know this is how corrupt it is for you humans. But I would hope not.

[Hrm. Made sense, since...panther. But she had spoken to man-pig eating spirits before, so talking to panthers was common place. But politics probably wasn't commonplace for the panther.]

I'll be kind and say it might not be this corrupt. Might. Marginally. Barely. But government corruption in itself it a big headache of a chore to comb through in passive discussion; particularly when we're supposed to be standing and celebrat-, mourning the loss of our mayor.

[That stutter was completely on purpose. Complete sarcasm. She wanted to be a jerk about this. They earned it.]

Fair enough.

Personally, the only sort of, ah, "government" that I'm used to, is the largest and most feared tiger in the jungle forcing other animals into submission. And attempting to kill my mancub, and anyone else who got in the way of that.

Luckily, he's dead now. And Plankton is out of office. I suppose that's two wins against corruption.

[Wow. Hard to remark on that. So she didn’t.]

There’s something else to be said about dictatorships, but I’m just inclined to agree.

[Ha.]

Just another day in the Happiest Place on Earth, with a dash of failed dictatorship.
